HEAD COACH: TIMOTHY MALE
With over 20 years of experience at the senior and international level, Tim has seen and done it all. He represented Great Britain from 1996 to 2006, competing in 8 consecutive World Rowing Cup seasons and in the Athens 2004 Olympics. Furthermore Tim brings years of top-tier and tailored coaching experience, having previously been the Head Coach of the Colombian Olympic team for Beijing, an Assistant Coach at Tideway Scullers’ Performance Programme and Head Coach at Cygnet Rowing club. He is also a qualified Personal Trainer, a highly accomplished violinist and has two Bachelor Degrees.
Tim claims he loves a challenge which is proven by his successful track record on and off the water. He held the British 2k erg record for 15 years and still currently holds the World erg record for 5k that he set in 2000. Only just this year Tim has set three Age Group World records on the erg.
ASSISTANT COACH : JACK CARR
We are happy to confirm that Jack Carr will be continuing on as our Assistant Coach for the 2017/18 season after recently having a successful year with the KCLBC Women.
Jack has over 18 years experience as a trainer and coach; coaching a wide variety of scullers and rowers to success at national and international events, including Henley Royal Regatta, European's and the Junior World Championships. He is a qualified personal trainer, Tideway Scullers Coach and has been GB coach for the Junior Men for the past 13 years. Outside of rowing Jack loves to play tennis and is a semi-pro golfer.
During the past year Jack has been a huge support the our women's squad. With 50% of the top four boat only learning to row in the previous year, Jack has made huge technical advances in the crew's performance which has helped them achieve 2nd place at Henley Women's Regatta in the Academic Coxed Fours event and 5th place at BUCS Regatta in the Intermediate Coxed Four event, along with many other squad successes throughout the season.
