We are very excited to announce that Timothy Male will be rejoining KCLBC as our Head Coach for the 2017/18 season. This follows on from his roles as Senior Women’s Coach in 2000 and Senior Men’s Coach in 2003.
With over 20 years of experience at the senior and international level, Tim has seen and done it all. He represented Great Britain from 1996 to 2006, competing in 8 consecutive World Rowing Cup seasons and in the Athens 2004 Olympics. Furthermore Tim brings years of top-tier and tailored coaching experience, having previously been the Head Coach of the Colombian Olympic team for Beijing, an Assistant Coach at Tideway Scullers’ Performance Programme and Head Coach at Cygnet Rowing club. He is also a qualified Personal Trainer, a highly accomplished violinist and has two Bachelor Degrees.
Tim claims he loves a challenge which is proven by his successful track record on and off the water. He held the British 2k erg record for 15 years and still currently holds the World erg record for 5k that he set in 2000. Only just this year Tim has set three Age Group World records on the erg.
After a successful season, we are looking forward to September as we return for pre-season training led by Tim. We hope to build on our club’s potential in the coming year.
